Product Description
This Carpet Underlay anti-slip prevents rugs from shifting, slipping and forming waves. Suitable for underfloor heating. It has a high surface stability and absorbs footfall sounds. The 100% polyester fleece with the acrylate coating provides a soft surface and traps heat to provide a warm floor.
These underlays are machine-washable (40 degrees, no detergent) which restores their functionality. Underlay is particularly useful for Kilim and Mushwani rugs which are relatively lightweight and can slip on smooth floors. Some of the other benefits of underlay includes:
Comfort: Provides a softer feel underfoot, enhancing the walking experience
Insulation: Offers thermal insulation, keeping rooms warmer and reducing energy bills
Noise Reduction: Absorbs sound, making it ideal for multi-level buildings
Increases Carpet Lifespan: Protects the carpet from wear by reducing friction against the subfloor.
Improves Appearance: Helps the carpet maintain its shape and prevents wrinkling or flattening.
Moisture Protection: Underlays have moisture barriers to protect against dampness from the subfloor
NOTE: Please ensure the floor surface is dry and dust-free before placing the underlay. If the underlay is larger than your rug, you can simply cut off the excess with scissors, leaving a 5-10 cm gap from the edges of the rug. The acrylate coating prevents the underlay from leaving sticky residues on your floors and also stops any colour-leaching from the rugs onto the underlay.
Materials + Care
The pile of this rug is constructed of hand-spun Ghazni wool, and the weft and warp foundation are also constructed of wool. The dyes used are all 100% natural vegetable dyes, derived from plant, fruit and flower skins such as madder root, indigo, pomegranate skin and walnut shells.
Non-Straight Edges: Some rugs may not have completely straight edges due the handmade-nature of the rugs and rigorous production process of washing, dyeing and trimming. Usually these are not noticeable from eye-height.
Creases: Some rugs may have minor creases due to being folded and stored. These are usually flattened out once they are laid out and in the course of normal foot traffic and vacuuming. You can also flatten creases by applying some water to the crease and applying gentle heat using an iron, indirectly over another cloth.
Colour: The colours and shades may vary slightly due to the lighting when photos are taken. This means that the carpet you receive may look slightly different from the picture. Additionally, carpets naturally have a "light" side and a "dark" side, which is determined by the orientation of the wool pile. This is a characteristic of carpets and should be taken into consideration when choosing a carpet for your space.
