  • This is a brand new authentic Ersari rug, handmade in Afghanistan. These types of rugs are one of the most traditional rugs made in Afghanistan. They have the very well-known and oft repeated "elephant foot" design which is a signature motif of these carpets. These rugs primarily come in a red and black colour, although newer colour themes of green and blue are available. These carpets are the staple rug of Afghan families and have passed the test of time in their timeless quality and appeal. Their charm is in their simplicity, and they also have matching runners of the same design and colour.

Handmade Afghan carpets are a testament to the rich cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship of traditional weavers. Each carpet features intricate designs and vibrant colours, reflecting the diverse landscapes and historical influences of Afghanistan. Crafted from high-quality wool, these carpets are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable, making them suitable for various settings, from living rooms to hallways.

The weaving process employs age-old techniques passed down through generations, resulting in unique patterns and textures. No two carpets are identical, ensuring that each piece tells its own story. From bold geometric motifs to delicate floral designs, Afghan carpets can effortlessly complement any décor style. Their flexibility in both design and function makes them a valuable addition to any home. By sourcing directly from artisans, we ensure that each purchase supports traditional crafting practices while offering the best prices for top-quality oriental rugs. With their timeless appeal and unmatched quality, Afghan carpets remain a cherished choice for those seeking authenticity and elegance in their interiors.

Non-Straight Edges: Some rugs may not have completely straight edges due the handmade-nature of the rugs and rigorous production process of washing, dyeing and trimming. Usually these are not noticeable from eye-height.

Creases: Some rugs may have minor creases due to being folded and stored. These are usually flattened out once they are laid out and in the course of normal foot traffic and vacuuming. You can also flatten creases by applying some water to the crease and applying gentle heat using an iron, indirectly over another cloth.

Colour: The colours and shades may vary slightly due to the lighting when photos are taken. This means that the carpet you receive may look slightly different from the picture. Additionally, carpets naturally have a "light" side and a "dark" side, which is determined by the orientation of the wool pile. This is a characteristic of carpets and should be taken into consideration when choosing a carpet for your space.
