In most cases, the rugs are named after the city they are woven in. They are dominated by floral patterns symbolising the gardens of paradise, and nature with motifs of deer, goats, trees and other herbivorous animals.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eHamadan \u003c\/em\u003erugs are woven in the city of \u003cem\u003eHamadan\u003c\/em\u003e, western Iran. They are classed as tribal rugs, despite their bold floral and medallion design. Within the Hamadan region there are smaller villages including \u003cem\u003eMalayer\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eNahavand\u003c\/em\u003e, and \u003cem\u003eLilian\u003c\/em\u003e, which incorporate their own unique motifs\/colours when weaving Hamadan rugs.
