They are woven in the northern cities of  \u003cem\u003eMazari-Sharif\u003c\/em\u003e,\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eSheberghan\u003c\/em\u003e, and\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eAndkhoy\u003c\/em\u003e. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCraftsmanship \u0026amp; Texture\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThey are woven using the asymmetrical Turkish (\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eGhiordes\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e) knot and often have a medium-low pile to bring out the detailed fine design. This is especially true for '\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eSuper Kazak\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e' rugs which are much more detailed than Yakash \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eKazak\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003erugs. They also use finer wool, which gives the rugs a lustre.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMotif \u0026amp; Design Symbolism\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese rugs are known for their intricate geometric design consisting of medallions, 'sunburst' or snowflake-like emblems, and hooked polygons. They use various colours including reds, blues, browns, greens and beige.
